To Whom It May Concern:
I am a registered nurse interested in working in a large teaching hospital. I am especially interested in doing emergency room work. I would like to obtain experience as an ER nurse and then pursue the path to a LifeFlight nurse.
I have an associate degree in applied science from Hocking College in Nelsonville Ohio and an associate degree in science from Excelsior College through the University of New York.
As a registered nurse, I am a new graduate; however, I have a vast amount of experience working in the healthcare field as a Certified Medical Assistant. I have spent the last seventeen years doing clinical work for Ohio University’s Osteopathic Medical Center in Athens Ohio. While there, I worked in many different specialties including pediatrics, surgery, dermatology, and orthopedics. The Osteopathic Medical Center is also a teaching school, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with the medical students. I hope to continue that student contact as I transition into hospital work.
I am PALS certified (pediatric advanced life support) and am preparing to obtain my ACLS certification (advanced cardiac life support). I thrive in the challenging environment of emergency care. I believe my almost two decades of healthcare experience would be a great asset to your hospital. My resume is attached and references are available upon request.
Thank you,
Traci Powell
