Sanderson (Asbury) Cemetery - Lancaster, Ohio

On November 25, 2004 the Grave Hoppers spent a chilly Thanksgiving day exploring cemeteries all around Lancaster, in Fairfield County. Sanderson Cemetery, actually called Asbury Cemetery, is located on the corner of Marietta and Sells streets, behind Sanderson Elementary, hence the name mistake. The oldest stone in this cemetery is from 1848, and the newest, shockingly, came from 1952. There are about half a dozen Civil War Vets, and only two infants. This small cemetery only had one family plot, the Nichols family, although I suspect that maybe that's how this cemetery started, especially since the 1952 grave has the same name as the family plot. Special thanks to Beth from GraveAddiction for letting me know about the proper name for this one. If you know anything more about this one, Tonee_1986@yahoo.com.
