About This Site

The History of Amesville, Ohio site was designed for a target audience of third and fourth grade students. All material was checked for an appropriate readability level to ensure that students are given access to a site that is written for them at or close to their level. The goal of this site is for the target audience to learn about the history of Amesville. They will also have the opportunity to complete educational activities that directly correlate with the state content standards in social studies and language arts. While viewing this site they will also meet many of the NETS standards for students. We also hope that students gain a better understanding of biographies, the importance of passing down stories from each generation, an understanding of the historical perspective and an overall sense of what it was like when Amesville was settled. The black and white photographs found throughout the site have been found to be visually interesting for our target audience because of the “old fashioned” feel.
