This website was created by students in Dr. Debb Thorne's University Professor course (UP 450) on consumerism and debt. Each year, a handful of professors are allowed to teach UP courses on subjects of their choosing.

Dr. Thorne has done extensive research on debt and bankruptcy. She even appeared on CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight to talk about what a mandated increase in minimum payments on credit cards will mean for Americans. She did research at Harvard that revealed that the two leading causes of bankruptcy are job loss, and illness and injury.
