Our primary text will be Everything's an Argument with readings, 2nd edition, by Andrea Lunsford, John Ruszkiewicz, and Keith Walters. Additional readings, if and when required, will be available via my Web site (and/or Blackboard) or provided in class. Students are responsible for checking the online syllabus for changes and downloading class and supplemental materials as assigned. I communicate frequently via email, but I will not send materials as attachments.
Students in this class will practice composing and revising expository essays which are well organized, logically coherent, and effective for their purpose and audience. As the name of the text suggests, we will be working with the role argument and persuasion play in communication. Constructing arguments and the ways in which to do so will be a primary focus of this course. Technology will be incorporated in the curriculum. This includes extensive use of computers both within and outside of the classroom.
I will be happy to answer questions about the class and discuss my policies. Please email me with any questions.
