Weller N. Slater aged 62, died on Tuesday at his home near Port Colden, following a paralytic stroke suffered Monday while working in a field near his home.
Mr. Slater was a member of the Spruce Run Lutheran Church and is survived by six sisters: Mrs. Emma L. Fritts, Mrs. James Smith and Mrs. Watson Rinehart, all of Glen Gardner; Mrs. Garfield Oberly of Broadway and Miss Grace Slater and Miss Eulah T. Slater both at home, and by two brothers, Milton Slater of Washington, and Watson Slater of Glen Gardner. He was a son of the late Daniel and Mary Elizabeth Bennett Slater.
Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. With the Rev. Stephen Traver, pastor of the Spruce Run Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery.
