How to save a file on your floppy disk or zip disk?
- Open a new file in PowerPoint for exercise purposes and go to File, Save As

If you can't see your zip disk or floppy disk, click once on Desktop. The hard disk on the computer I used to prepare this exercise was named asMacintosh HD. On your computer, this might be different. McCracken hard disks are named as HD1, HD2, HD3...
After you click on the Desktop, you will see the disks, such as hard disk, floppy disk, zipd disk and/or folders, files on your desktop of your computer. It might be easier for you to find your zip or floppy disk if you name it. In this case, I named my floppy disk as "Selma's floppy".
Double click on your floppy or zip disk here or click once and then click Open. This will open your floppy or zip disk.

I have opened Selma's floppy disk. Now I need to give a name to my file. Type the file name you want to use where it says Save As.

Save your files often. Always have a backup. Either save your file on a different floppy or zip disk or your computers hard disk. In McCracken computer lab, there is a folder called "User Saves" on all computers. You can save your files in this folder, but there is always a chance somebody might delete your file(s). It is still a good backup system while you are working on a computer.
