Application: Eligibility, Deadlines, Forms
The Department of Modern Languages is pleased to offer its annual program of
courses in German language, literature, and culture in Salzburg , Austria
during Spring Quarter. This program, in existence since 1968, is open to
students from all majors and colleges of Ohio University. In addition to
regularly scheduled classes, the program includes field trips to significant and
interesting sites in the city and province of Salzburg. Students also have the
opportunity for independent weekend trips to other European cities, such as
Prague, Budapest, Venice, Munich, and Vienna.
ELIGIBILITY: The program is primarily designed for Elementary and
Intermediate students. Students who will have successfully completed at least
German 112 or its equivalent (i.e., two quarters of Elementary German at the
college level) or German 212 by the end of Winter Quarter 2005 will be given
priority consideration. Advanced students (those who have completed at least
one 300-level course) will be considered on a space-available basis. Selection
will be based on the student's academic and judicial record, an interview with
the program director, letters of recommendations, and the compatibility of group
proficiency levels.
APPLICATION FORMS: Application and recommendation forms will be available soon on the stand outside of Gordy 283 or at the Office of Education Abroad. If you are requesting a letter of recommendation from an OU instructor of German s/he will have the required form. The Application form is also available online.
