Allan Hills
As shown at site #3 on the Collecting Localities page, Allan Hills is also a nunatak . Triassic deposits are exposed in the Allan Hills, and there are both anatomically preserved plant fossils and compressed specimens in this area. We collected at the Allan Hills on January 8, 1998.
Because of the recent (highly unusual) snow, we had to clean off the exposure to find the fossils. Note the broom in the picure below.

After clearing off the exposure the collecting was good,
and excellent specimens of Heidiphyllum, Neocalamites, and
Telemachus were recovered.
