Here is a some background information on me and my family. |
My Life In Brief
I was born in California (Whittier) January 20, 1961. I have eight younger siblings (Elizabeth, Wasel, Callis, David, Martha, Anne, Georgia, and Alvin). My parents are Charles Bluford Ogles and Val Gene Washburn. We lived in California for the first four years of my life. We then moved to northern Utah (Brigham City) when I was 5 years old. All my formative years, I lived in Brigham City. I attended Box Elder High School then went to Brigham Young University. After a semester at BYU, I served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Oslo Norway Mission. I then returned to BYU and completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. While working on my BS degree, I was working at Timpanogas Mental Health Center (now Wasatch Mental Health). As a result, I developed an interest in psychology and decided to pursue a graduate degree in clinical psychology. I entered the doctoral program in clinical psychology at Brigham Young University in September 1985. After completing a one-year clinical internship at the Indiana University Medical School, I received my Ph.D. in August of 1990. While on my internship, I applied for several faculty positions and accepted a position at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. My family and I have been living in Athens since September of 1990. I am now a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Ohio University.

I met Maureen Garret in the September of 1982. We lived in the same apartment complex in Provo, Utah and we were both students at Brigham Young University. We married a year later on October 15, 1983. Twenty+ years of marital bliss. J

Maureen and I have seven children born between July 1984 and July 1997. We both come from large families so we are used to the chaos. Here is a picture of the whole family in 2000 (I know, I need to update some of these pictures).
Here are some pictures of our children (some are up to date and some are dated), Rebecca, Max Garrett, Elisabeth, Bonnie Jean, Hannah Ruth, Samuel Roy Edward and Abraham.
I am quite interested in genealogy. As I learn more about the process, I may post some of my ancestry on this page. I am especially interested in finding out more about my Ogle or Ogles line.
