The primary research goal of this lab is to better understand the development of various information processing mechanisms including, working memory, auditory attention, and speed of processing, and their relation to complex grammatical processing/ comprehension in school-age children with specific language impairment (SLI) and typically developing children.

We are investigating how age-related changes in these mechanisms relate to children’s offline comprehension of complex sentences, as well as to their real-time processing of complex grammar. We are also examining the contribution of information processing skills to children’s narrative comprehension.

Another area of research interest includes better understanding the functional operation of children's working memory and auditory attention systems.
