Life in Valdivia

Valdivia's "centro" offers large city amenities in a small town setting: government, education, shopping, restaurants, accommodations, diverse religious choices, entertainment, nightlife, etc. The Isla Teja offers a history museum that is the pride of Valdivia. The university, of course, adds a unique aspect to the town.

Anything in Valdivia, including the Isla Teja, is within walking distance. However, cheap rides on micro buses and in taxis are plentiful and run in between the university and the "centro". Valdivia also offers a grand bus depot, with buses leaving daily to Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador and anywhere along Chile's long coast.
