- Provides information about all the products Brunswick produces and links to all their products sites. It also has investor info such as shareholder information, public reports, and financial information. This site also provides a listing of company officers as well as their statement to their commitment on ethics.

Brunswick Corporation began in 1845 in Cincinnati by a man named John Moses Brunswick when he built his first pool table. Since the creation of his first pool table the Brunswick Corporation has grown to be one of the largest and most recognizable names in the recreation industry leading the way not only in pool tables and supplies, but also bowling supplies, fitness equipment, marine engines, and sporting boats. Brunswick corporation generated $3.8 billion dollars in sales in 2000 with an employee base of 22,700. 

2. Hoovers Company Capsule

- Provides many facts about a companies background such as in-depth financials, competitive landscapes, and company officers. It also provides links to many recent news articles and market trends for companies. The site also allows the user to compare two companies together to see how they stack up. This is an excellent site to start learning the financial or any background on a company. 

Brunswick Corporation's business is everyone else's free time. The Brunswick Corporation sells leisure products with marine goods making up 80% of their profits. Brunswick is also involved in bowling, billiards, fitness supplies, and outdoor recreation supplies. Brunswick also owns over 140 fun centers that offer varieties of bowling, billiards, and restaurants.

The site is also very navigable and is constantly updated so the user has up to the minute information. The site also has a job posting board that could be used to help a person find the job of their choice in a location of their choice. 

Brunswick Corporation is a leader in recreational products. The company maintains its large share of the market by creating superior products and services, aggressively marketing its leading brands, and acquiring complementary products. As of 10/10/01 Brunswick's stocks were considered a very good buy and they were doing well in a market that continues to struggle.

- Provides a listing of all recent news articles on the Brunswick Corporation with a special focus on Brunswick Marine news. The site also provides a link to all Brunswick Corporation products, but is not supported by Brunswick or any of its entities. The website provides a archive of important news articles on the company back to 1997 and also has a listing of recent Brunswick Corporation lawsuits. 

One of the new articles is about Brunswick's recent purchase of Sealine International Ltd. for $31 million dollars, which will increase its large already large share of the marine/boating industry. To adjust to the changes in economic cycles, seasonal and cyclical are examples, Brunswick recently rapidly diversified into other areas with active recreation. Brunswick celebrated its 150th anniversary in 1995 just outside Chicago, Illinois. Brunswick was also one of the last Fortune 500 companies to establish a website.

It also provides the user to the ability to research individual companies with the assistance of Hoovers. A unique feature to the site is that it will keep to you informed with newsletters or you choice of wireless connection such as pager, cell phone, etc.

The current CEO of Brunswick is George W. Buckley and the current CFO is Victoria J. Reich. According the website the three main competitors of Brunswick are Yamaha Co. and Genmar Holdings Inc. in the marine industry and AMF Bowling Inc. in the bowling and billiards industry. Brunswick's average revenue per employee is $164,306.03. The Brunswick Corporation has decreased sales 11% over the past year. 

6. Forbes.com

- Provides an online version to the popular newsstands magazine that provides the latest business and technology information. It provides stock and mutual fund quotes, in-depth company profiles, and a variety of interactive tools, calculators and databases. It also provides a section called Lifestyles lists information on high end vehicles, real-estate, and travel.

Brunswick is projecting a 13% growth over the next five years. The ratio comparisons show that Brunswick does very well against its sector (cyclical), is about even in its industry (recreational), and does poorly compared to the S & P 500. Over the past six months sales have decreased by 8% and net income fell 43%. These decreases are due to slower sales of marine products and boats as well as plant closures and production rate reductions. 

7. Lawyers Weekly

- Provides an online version version of the weekly newspaper printed for practicing lawyers in the United States and is currently the leading publisher of legal information on the internet. It contains summaries of court decisions and other important news for lawyers. It also allows non-lawyers  and also allows lawyers from states that are not offered the weekly newspaper access to recent court decisions.

In 1997 a court case was brought before the Michigan Supreme Court involving the wrongful death of a man named Stephen Ryan was accidentally killed when he was hit by the propeller of a Bayliner boat with a Mercury Marine engine, all of which are owned and operated by the Brunswick Corporation. They are being sued because that particular engine did not have a propellor guard which could have possibly saved the life of Stephen Ryan. The charges were dismissed, because the propellor guard was not required in the state of Michigan. 

8. Professional Bowlers Association

- Provides complete information about the men's and senior professional bowler's tour. It has current players standings, player stats, tour schedule, and Professional Bowlers Association bowling centers. It also has an online store with bowling accessories such as bowling balls, bags, shoes, and miscellaneous supplies. 

Brunswick is a major supporter of the Profession Bowlers Association with its high quality products it creates for bowling. It supplies the pins used at all events and a majority of the bowlers used Brunswick bowling accessories. Brunswick also supports many of the events by either cash supplements, the use of its many bowling centers, and/or use of other various bowling equipment such as pin setters, automatic scorers, and ball returns. 

9. Women's Professional Billiards Association

- Provides a listing of all tournament events as well as player profiles. The site also allows the user learn about the rules of the different pool variations as well as the history of the game. It is a relatively new site and is constantly being updated with the next major area being a pro shop for users to purchase supplies and memorabilia. 

The Brunswick Corporation was created on the basis of pool tables, so it is very important that they are one of the five main sponsors of the professional sport. They support the tour by providing all the tables and much of the equipment. Brunswick has also played a part in sponsoring some of the events on the tour.

10. Antique Billiards Tables

- Provides a gallery of old antique billiard tables some from as far back at the late 1800's. It also has a description of each table and also has galleries of antique billiard accessories. A user may purchase some of the antique tables and equipment as well as sell any antique billiard supplies they may have.

Many of the billiard tables and equipment were made by Brunswick as they have been a leader in billiard equipment production for a long time. The craftsmanship of the Brunswick models have allowed many of the tables to stay in excellent condition. Brunswick has also provided many quality accessories to the game of billiards not to increase game play, but also the popularity.

US Marine, a division of the Brunswick Corporation, was awarded the Washington State Governor's Lifesaving Award for the saving the life of a man suffering from a heart attack. All the employees are trained to recognize and be aware of potentially hazardous situations and areas. This training has not only saved a life but also has created a 32 percent reduction in recordable accidents at that particular plant.

Brunswick has recently joined with Informatica eProcurement to improve the quality and efficiency of its supply chain. Informatica eProcurement is used by 60 percent of the Fortune 100 to analyze, integrate, and deliver vital information to managers and executives. Brunswick will utilize this software to gain a complete and timely view of direct and indirect expenditures in a variety of dimensions within and outside the organization.

Brunswick is preparing to open bowling centers in India that would offer 24 lanes, pool facilities, and an eatery. They have already installed equipment for a variety of other facilities throughout the country and are now looking to open their own. Brunswick is currently figuring appropriate costs for its bowling center as well as searching for a possible partner to join in the venture.

Brunswick tried to expand its horizons in the 70's by trying to get involved in medical, defense, and oil which are unrelated to their market. In the process they also shed 15 poorly performing divisions which lead to a second straight year of record earnings in 1979. In 1980 Brunswick also tried to increase their share of the boat engine market, but at the same time the market dipped. Brunswick needed to be very cautious about how it reacted to the market and make the proper decisions to make sure it didn't incur huge losses.

Brunswick consolidated a "non-traditional" purchases so that maintain consistency across all of its divisions. The consolidation trimmed $2.7 million from the annual expenditure budget in 1997-1998. The consolidation will also create consistent service levels across all divisions and companies and control costs much more efficiently.

The Brunswick Corporation joined with the Sioux Indians to create the Devils Lake Manufacturing Corporation. Their training of operative employees has been a huge factor in the success of the company. The case study also states that this major paved the way for other organizations to also begin incorporating minority employees into their organizations.

The US constitution drafted in 1787 decided that Congress would have no power to tax exports. Two supreme court cases, one of which involving the Brunswick Corporation, is currently challenging that issue. Brunswick is brought into that suit due to its many exports to foreign countries and the US would benefit greatly if a tax could be imposed.
