AUTHORIZATION CONFIRMED: TRANSMISSION BEGINS

Scenario 2: Get the I'lora... (Part II)

Background: With her hyperdrive damaged,I'lora was a sitting duck for any human warships that could find her. Realizing that her forces were not up to the task, the ESU provided the NAC and NSL with the coordinates of I'lora's last position. The NAC dispatched the carrier Argus and her escorts to rendevous with the NSL's Kampfengruppen 17, centered around the dreadnoughts Friedrich Der Grosse and Hapsburg. Although repair crews were working overtime aboard the I'lora, their efforts weren't enough, and I'lora was forced to stand and fight against the human fleet.

Setup: As before, the forces should be set up at opposite ends of the table. The situation in this scenario is unique- I'lora can't run away, and her escorts won't abandon her (if she's destroyed however, then it's an entirely different story). Thus, the Kra'Vak will fight with their normal ferocity, and will charge the human ships at a high velocity (between 10-12). Also, this game uses the moving table rules described in the rulebooks. The human ships can start at whatever velocity they choose (they do have the initiative, after all).

Special Rules:The rules discussed in Scenario 1 for NAC PDAF and ADAF systems apply for this scenario. In addition, NAC interceptors have a standoff capability against other fighters, which allows them to engage other fighter groups up to 12" away.

Also, no Kra'Vak vessel may exit the table to go to hyperspace unless the I'lora is destroyed.

What Really Happened:Although losses were heavy (all three dreadnoughts damaged, three cruisers and two escorts destroyed), the combined force did manage to destroy I'lora. With the loss of their admiral, the remaining Kra'Vak ships fell into disarray. Some stayed and fought, dying in the process. The rest turned and ran, hoping to get even at a later time.
