AUTHORIZATION CONFIRMED: TRANSMISSION BEGINS

Until the arrival of the Kra'Vak, the Eurasian Solar Union was the greatest threat to the security of the NAC. Although tensions between us have cooled, the situation is hardly stable.

The ESU has lagged behind the NAC and other naval powers in the development of a carrier-based striking force. To compensate for this, they have relied on old-style East-Bloc blue water strategy. Most of their ships carry massive amounts of ship to ship firepower, and many of them carry large amounts of missles, relying on saturation missle attacks to break through the layers of defenses around our carrier groups. Recently ESU naval groups have begun to employ vessels equipped with pulse torpedoes to defeat the superior screen technology of the NAC and NSL. One such example of this trend is the Slava class strike cruiser, first encountered in a skirmish six years ago, and now a mainstay in the ESU order of battle. Note that ESU ships tend to be heavy on firepower, but low on survivability.
