                                    Text Box: Research interests:
I am currently studying fire in mixed-oak forests of southern Ohio. My research encompasses two projects:
1) the impact of prescribed fire and thinning treatments on forest floor fuels three years following the initial treatment, and
2) the impacts of realistic fuel loads and fuel moisture levels on fire behavior in Ohio mixed-oak forests.
I am also interested in restoration of American chestnut (Castanea dentata), reconciliation ecology, agroecology, and agroforestry.

Text Box: Fifteen fuel treatments encompassing five fuel loads and three moisture levels are being burned in a common garden experiment. Fire behavior (intensity, amount of fuel consumed etc) are being recorded for each treatment.
