My 2000 Carolina Cobra Experience

On March 15th, the year 2000 I embarked on a experience that I will remember for a lifetime. I packed up my bags, did a final powerclean in the Ohio University weight room, where I served as an assistant strength coach, finished the graduate papers that had been amassing all quarter and headed to Raleigh North Carolina where I would play in the Arena Football League. At the time I was not sure what I was getting myself into, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. An experience that was spent practicing and playing at the Raleigh Entertainment and Sports Arena (Home of the Carolina Hurricanes), eating out at great restaurants, playing lots of golf, and best of all travelling the countryside. Although it might not have been a successful season in the terms of wins and losses, I had a very successful year. I accumulated quite a few sacks, scored a couple of touchdowns, and best of all was given the satisfaction that I was a paid professional athlete, something that I had dreamed of my entire life. I look forward to playing football again... soon in the XFL, but for now I am happy completing my graduate work at the best school in the world, Ohio University! I will forever be a Bobcat!!!
