LINKS

by Heidi Radakovich

Uncertainty reduction theory by Charles R. Berger is found in many publications. After reading through his theory in "A First Look at Communication Theory" by Em Griffin I had a better understanding of what this theory was about. I will provide some other views to his theory by posting links to uncertainty reduction theory.
The first site I found related to Berger's Uncertainty Reduction Theory is done by Eberhard Stickel and titled, "Uncertainty Reduction in a Competitive Environment". This site shows the mathmatical applications of Berger's theory and much more. To visit this site click here.
The second site I found explains Uncertainty Reduction and lists the strategies inorder to seek more information from others. This site also gives further sources to information on Uncertainty Reduction. To visit this site click here.
The third site I found also briefs Berger's theory. This site discusses the axioms of Uncertainty Reduction and also provides a critique. In addition, there is an interesting diagram which helps to explain the theory. To visit this site click here.
The fourth site I found is a link to Charles Berger himself! Professor Berger's expertise and credentials are listed as well as how you can contact him. To visit this site click here.

My final link is titled "Communication Theorist: Charles R. Berger" and done by Kathleen. This site gives some fun facts about Berger's background and involvement. The Uncertainty Reduction theory itself is briefed and a theoretical analysis is given. To visit this site click here
