Course Summary

This course is designed to introduce you to a survey of lithograph techniques; including stone and plate lithography in black and white as well as basic color processes. A series of critiques, group discussions, research and information gathering assignments, lectures and demonstrations complement studio work. You will be given the opportunity for in depth exploration of selected techniques and processes to begin to understand your particular approach to image-making.
Emphasis will be placed on your mastery of the technical processes, problem solving within process and idea, and the quality of the original images which are produced. Most of these processes require practice, experimentation and lots of time to perfect your skills and results.
