Art on Computers/ ART 346

Course Summary
Art on Computers is a course designed to allow you to explore the role of digital media, specifically, Adobe Photoshop, in the art-making process. We will survey Photoshop techniques; including, but not limited to: selection, drawing/painting, image manipulation, layering, color theory/selection, and print and color management. Through lectures, demonstrations, discussions, critiques, and ample hands-on art making; we will begin to understand how digital techniques can fit into your existing art practice.
You will create still images for print and the screen. A focus will be placed on the print substrate, as well as the final presentation of the work. Emphasis will also be placed on your mastery of the technical processes, problem solving within process and idea, and the quality and content of the original images that are produced.
