Description:
American
Empire from Wounded Knee to Guantánamo: This course will
focus on 20th and 21st century authors, texts, movements, and contexts
that examine the workings of U.S. imperialism at home and abroad.
Authors include Langston Hughes, Muriel Rukeyser, Allen Ginsberg,
Amiri Baraka, Leslie Marmon Silko, Gloria Anzaldúa, and more.
We will use a variety of sources, including poetry, fiction, essays,
film, and more.
