In late October 1999 and again in mid-November 2004 I visited several ghost towns in the state of Texas.  The inspiration for the visits came from the books Ghost Towns of Texas and More Ghost Towns of Texas by T. Lindsay Baker (University of Oklahoma Press, 1986 and 2003, respectively).

The links below lead to pages for each of the ghost towns I visited.  Complete histories of the towns are given by Mr. Baker in his books, so I will not repeat that information here. 

I encourage you to get a copies of Ghost Towns of Texas and More Ghost Towns of Texas if you're interested in Texas ghost towns.  I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has any comments about my pictures and descriptions or any photos of these towns they'd be willing to lend to me to scan.
