1/12/91 Guest hosts are Matthew and Gunner Nelson of the rock group "Nelson."  These two are the identical twin sons of the legendary Ricky Nelson, and they were at the height of their very limited rock career at this point, having had a #1 song that hit the charts in August of 1990 ("Can't Live Without Your Love and Affection") and a #6 song that hit the charts in December of 1990 ("After the Rain").  Alas, they would go on to have only two more Top 40 hits, one reaching #14 in the spring of 1991 ("More than Ever") and the other reaching #28 in mid-summer of that year ("Only Time Will Tell"). 191 CD1161-1163/HD

1/26/91 Special show where Shadoe does the "Countdown from the Bridge of the Starship Enterprise."  Regular countdown show interspersed with visits and interviews from the cast of the then-popular syndicated show "Star Trek:  The Next Generation."  (Remember the good old days, when there were no special shows like this, no long-distance dedications, no nothing, and all Casey or Shadoe or whoever would do was simply play the top 40 songs in order?  Me, too.) 217 CD1767

5/11/91 Shadoe does the second of three annual shows, each year in May, from on location at Walt Disney World, Florida.  After about the third or fourth visit from a Disney character, listeners at the time probably started wondering why anybody ever thought this was a good idea (as you will, too), and after about the fifth or sixth visit, they surely wanted to smash their radios to bits with baseball bats. 191 CD873/HD
7/6/91 For AT 40's 21st Anniversary, Shadoe plays the Top 40 All American Acts of the Last 10 Years.  All the songs are upbeat, and there are no ballads.  This was the summer after the first Gulf War, and the program features lots of patriotism and Fourth of July good wishes from various celebrities and the troops. 192 CD874-877/HD

11/23/91 Final AT 40 show to use the Billboard Hot 100 chart as the basis for the countdown.  This chart had been used since the show's inception in 1970. 191 CD918-921/HD
11/30/91 First AT 40 show to use the Billboard Top 40 Radio Monitor chart.  This chart differed from the Hot 100 in that it relied more on radio airplay and less on record sales to determine chart position.  The Hot 100 chart was abandoned because things had gotten to the point that songs could get on it with little radio airplay and thus be unfamiliar to many AT 40 listeners. 191 CD922-925/HD
12/28/91 Top 100 of 1991. 385 CD1448-1455/HD
