MISCELLANEOUS STEAM This page is devoted to many different steam engines in and around Ohio. I've been going through many old pictures and scanned the best I had at the time. |

ABANDONED MAINLINES OF OHIO - THE MC&C RAILROAD This is a new feature for my site. I am planning on taking a couple trips through out Ohio while I still live here and search out some of the many abandoned ROWs that dot the area. On Sunday, January 30th 2005, Greg Schultz, Ron Weaver and I went looking for the right of way of the Marietta, Columbus & Cincinnati which was abandoned in the early 1930's, I believe. This is the account of what we found. |

PERE MARQUETTE 1225 On December 18 and 19 I traveled to Owosso, Michigan to see the 1225 run the Polar Express trains. Saturday was in the high twenties and very overcast. Sunday was four degrees and not a cloud in the sky, which made for some great photos. |
STRASBURG RAILROAD Chris Zahrt and I took a trip to PA to visit the Strasburg Railroad and the Railroad Museum of PA in the fall of 2004. In one weekend we saw some of the best steam action in the east. |
RAILROAD MUSEUM OF PENNSYLVANIA On Saturday Zahrt and I went to the Railroad Museum of PA before heading back over to the Strasburg Railroad. The museum was amazing and the collection was in great condition., even if the K-4 was sitting outside. |
EAST BROAD TOP On the way back from visiting Strasburg, Zahrt and I made our way up to Rockhill Furnace to the East Broad Top railroad for their 2004 Fall Spectacular. If you have never been there go soon. It is no joke when they say it's like stepping back in time. |

OHIO CENTRAL TRAIN FESTIVAL NIGHT PHOTO SESSION Saturday of Train Festival I was on the crew that took the CP 1293 from Dennison to Columbus. That night I watched the engine and kept the fire hot. By the time we got everything taken care of it was to late to make a bank so we held a hot fire all night. In some of the down time after servicing the engine I took some pictures of it sitting in downtown Columbus. Zach Hall and I were alone with the engine all night. |
TRAIN FESTIVAL 2004 I didn't get a chance to take many pictures during Train Fest because I was working. Most of these pictures were taken by my father Mike Udolph while he was chasing the train I was on. Here are a few of the pictures I have from Train Festival 2004. |
OHIO CENTRAL STEAM I have many pictures of the engines on the Ohio Central that I have captured over the years and I am starting to scan them all in. This is going to be where all the OC steam pictures will go that don't have a page of their own. This section will probably be updated quite frequently. |
ILLINIOS RAILWAY MUSEUM VISIT During the summer of 04 I visited Illinois Railway Museum while in the Chicago area. I've been to this museum many times before but I was able to take lots of pictures of the steam there. |
GRANDPA'S STEAM PICTURES Before my Grandfather died he spent much of his time taking slides of landscapes and family vacations. He won many awards with his photos and at some point I will set up a page devoted to his photography. Until then here are some slides of one of his favorite subjects to capture on film: steam. He picked some great engines to photograph. |

OHIO CENTRAL 2003 PHOTO CHARTERS In the fall of 2003 the Ohio Central ran a series of photo charters with Grand Trunk Western 6325 and Canadian Pacific 1293. This is a selection of pictures from that event. |
OHIO CENTRAL WINTER CHARTER 04 In January of 2004 the Grand Trunk Western 6325 was fired up for a select few photographers. This is the first time since the early 80's that a northern has been fired up in sub-zero weather and used on both passenger and freight trains. |
OHIO CENTRAL #33 REBUILD AND FIRST FIRE UP The Ohio Centrals newest edition to their steam engine collection is LS&I #33. After 11 months in the shop for a complete rebuild it was fired up for the first time the last week in August. |
