This is a feature-length documentary film about dramatic political events that occurred in the period between the death of Croatian president Franjo Tudman and the victory of Stipe Mesic at the presidential elections. Incessantly following the most influential figures in Croatian political life, our cameras witnessed the moments of their biggest battle, their greatest victory and crushing defeat, the days of great strain, passion and political combat.

First shots were filmed on November 16, 1999 while the last ones were taken on February18, 2000. Our teams (cameraman and sound assistant) were equipped with small digitalcameras and very simple sound equipment in order not to disturb the natural course ofevents by their presence. We did not use additional lighting, stands and other equipment bound to damage the authenticity of situations. During the most intensive period of shooting (end of December, beginning of January) we filmed with 9 cameras at the same time. The final outcome consisted of 230 hours of filmed material. Editing and postproduction took about 10 full months. The final version of the film was blown up from digital video to 35-mm format.

This is, by all means, the most ambitious documentary project ever filmed in Croatia. It is the first documentary film ever distributed in Croatian theaters
