This car runs on 100% waste veggie oil (WVO).
I got this car in the spring of 2006 to try the veggie conversion. I paid $700 for the car and have put approx $1100.00 into it to get it converted to run on 100% wvo. I wanted to test the process of installation and getting / filtering the oil with a car that was not very expensive in case it was not worth the effort. Now that I am comfortable with the process I have purchased a nicer 300SD that I have converted and currently drive.

The car has some problems, however would be great for that person who wants to test the waters before jumping completely into the veggie car lifestyle.

There are some things on this car that should be / could be repaired

Sway Bars - Most importantly the sway bars in the front end are rusted. You can see photos of the situation below. I have driven this car carefully for about 1000 miles and feel fine driving it. When you are on the highway you can not notice the problem. It's only when you are going down a step hill slowly or backing up a step hill, (such as a driveway) that the sway bar knocks. I have taken the car to several mechanics to assess the situation. Some say it can't be fixed and you can drive it until it breaks. Others say it's not worth fixing and should not be driven, while one mechanic in Cincinnati told me he would fix the problem for $900.00.

Weak Power - Sometimes this car is a bit sluggish. Its 0-60 mph can be slower. . .. nothing hazardous, however just a bit slow.

Rust - There is a fair amount of rust on this car.

Engine kill switch - When you turn the key off, the car stays running. I have installed a fuel shutoff cable in the cabin which allows you to kill the engine without getting out of the car. You can also open the hood and press a button on the engine which will kill the engine. How to fix this? - There is a vacuum switch that is bad. It's a $65 part + labor to have it installed. Once this is put on the key should stop the engine.

Wipers - The wipers are not working. I have been using rain-x to keep my windshield clear

Tachometer - The tachometer on the dash does not work

Back Seats - The seats in the back have lost their padding. They currently only have springs in them. You could pretty quickly stuff them with padding to fix this problem. I took the back seats out to install the veggie kit, and have not put them back in the car yet.

AC / Heater - I know the AC does not work and I am pretty sure the heater does not work on this car. I have only driven this car in spring and summer so I have just always rolled the windows down.

Passenger Side Rear Window - This window will not move up and down with the controls on the console.

These are all of the problems I know of. The engine always starts right up and runs great. There is some smoke at start-up, but after just a few minutes the car runs perfectly. The veggie kit is great. When I bought the car I filled the factory tank with diesel fuel. I have gone more than 1000 miles and the diesel tank is still full. After about 10 minutes the veggie tank has been heated and I switch to the 2nd tank of veggie oil.

(above) I have spliced into the coolant line here.

(above) Hose in hose.
Coolant travels back to the veggie tank to heat the fuel. The coolant surrounds the veggie fuel line to keep it hot and heat the veggie tank.
The red hose is coolant and the black hose is the veggie fuel line.

(above) Coolant hose is wrapped around the veggie filter to warm the fuel in the filter.

(above) fuel selector. This device allows you to switch between your diesel and veggie fuel sources. The switch is under the dashboard.

(above) This is the veggie fuel tank. It's a 15 gallon tank from an 86 Nissan truck.
The long clear hose allows you to fill the tank and pour the oil outside of the trunk area.
