Eric J. Morgan is a graduate student at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  He is currently studying 20th century United States diplomatic history, specializing in U.S.-Africa relations.  In addition to diplomatic history, Eric has interests in American literature and culture, U.S. presidential history, national security and espionage studies, South Africa, apartheid, and race.  His Master's thesis, "While America Slept," examines Richard Nixon's policies towards apartheid South Africa from 1969 to 1974.  Eric graduated from Ohio University in June of 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and plans to pursue a Ph.D. after completing his Master's program.
Beyond historical research and scholarship, Eric is also an avid creative writer and reader of fiction and poetry.  His favorite authors include Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, Sherwood Anderson, Franz Kafka, J.D. Salinger, and Don DeLilo.  His favorite poets include Robert Frost, William Carlos Williams, and T.S. Eliot.

Other hobbies include writing and playing music, movies, listening to U2 and others, studying French, travel, wine and cooking, baseball, and spending time with his friends and girlfriend.
