Goals of the Research Lab

The main goal of the Auditory Psychophysics and Signal Processing Laboratory is to create, innovate, and test signal processing techniques to make speech more intelligible for persons who are hard-of-hearing. A current technique that is being tested psychophysically is called "spectral enhancement" where certain aspects of speech that are critical to understand speech are enhanced.
