Professional Costume Technology

As a costume crafts artisan I’ve worked at the Muppets, the Pioneer Theater, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, the Pepsico Summerfest, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, the Eaves-Brooks Costume Co., the Juilliard School, the Folger Shakespeare Theater, the Manwaring studio, and the Metropolitan Opera. As a properties artisan I’ve worked at the Milwaukee Rep, Arena Stage, The Great Lakes Theater Festival, The Pacific Conservatory for the Performing Arts, and WQED, Pittsburgh.
As a draper/shop foreman I’ve run the costume shop at the Folger Theater and draped for Broadway and regional theaters including the Juilliard School, Radio City Music Hall, the Kennedy Center, Brooks Van Horn Costumes, and Off-Broadway for the Chelsea Theater Center. As a first hand at Barbara Matera Ltd. and Brooks Van Horn I’ve worked on three Ringling Brothers Circus tours, nine Broadway productions, four national tours, and productions at the Houston Grand Opera, Wolftrap Theater, Buffalo Studio Arena, Goodspeed Opera ,and the Kennedy Center.

Major convention positions

USITT Costume Symposia - Coordinator for the 2005, 1990, and 1986 symposia in New York City. These symposia featured sessions with Broadway professionals, tours of shopping resources and Broadway studios, masterclasses in craft techniques,tours of museum costume collections, and backstage tours of Broadway shows.
