OhioU Efficiency Measurements

We have measured neutron efficiencies for the prototypes at Ohio Univeristy in March-April 2009. The neutrons were produced by using the 27Al(d,n) reaction which has been studied extensively for efficiency calibrations.

• Ohio U. runs info - short bars - long bars
• Calibrated timing spectra - example
• Deposited energy spectra: 2-MeV, 4-MeV, 6-MeV neutrons - all
• Efficiency plots - short bars

Prototype Components

Four prototypes have been built and are currently beeing tested at ORNL. The plastic bars, 5X5X200 cm3 and 3X3X60 cm3, are viewed by Hamamatsu and Photonis PMTs.
