Why did you choose Ohio University to conduct your higher education studies?

In choosing a college I had two main criteria: quality education at a fairly reasonable price. Although I was not sure of my major, I definitely knew that I wanted to major in Communications. After extensively researching colleges, I selected Ohio University based up the fact that it fit best fit my two top criteria. Ohio University's college of Communications was ranked the third best in the nation. Also after comparing the prices of the top five schools also on the list, Ohio University had the most reasonable price.

What are the three major characteristics that you bring to the job market?

Three major characteristics that I bring are optimism, knowledge and ability to move from being a team player and to a leader. I am a very optimistic person. I find a positive aspect in many endevours I encounter. I am very optimistic about the work that I do. This optimism allows me to put my 110% of my efforts into a project or an assignment. Being opimistic about project and assignment enables me to put more effort and commitment in them. I also bring knowledge of both telecommunications industries whether it deals with voice and data communications or broadcast management. I understand both of these industries. With so many companies merging, the knowledge and skills that I posses pertaining to both industries are greatly needed. Also, due to activities that I do outside of the classroom, I have learned to not only be a team player but also a team leader.

What have your learned from your extracurricular activities?

While formal education and classroom lessons give students valuable knowledge and skill, extracurricular activities have given me an insight into the operations of the real world. Extracurricular activities have helped me to build my communication skills with other cultures. I have also learned how to be a team player and a leader. I have learned how to set goals and work with and through others to get those goals accomplished.

Describe a challenge you encountered and how you dealt with it.

When I worked the bank, I encountered several challenges. The one that stands out in my mind is a time when I had to deal with a very irate customer during a very busy time. There was line full of customers. The lady standing before me did not have the proper identification in order to cash a check. She shouted loud insulting words. I remained very professional while continuing to tell her that I was following bank procedures, which are made to protect the customers. Because she was intoxicated, my manager proceeded to take care of her, however the customers that followed expressed to me that I did a very good job in handling the situation.

Describe a failure and how you dealt with it.

While working with others helping to reorganize an organization on campus, we did not have enough followship to get the organization off the ground. We tried continuously for a year with no avail. However, the following year we came back with full force and tried again. Our organization is now highly recognized because of the activities that we have done.
