My name is Amy Weegar and I am interested in an internship in the Advertising field during the summer of 2003.
I am currently a Junior at Ohio University, and I am enrolled in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. I am an Advertising major with a specialization in French and Fine Arts. I have taken four years of French in high school, as well as four quarters of advanced French at Ohio University. I plan on graduating in June of 2004.
In high school, I was the Business and Advertising Manager of our yearbook. Not only was I in charge of selling advertising space, I was also in charge of the layout of the ads. This has given me invaluable experience on working with advertising programs on the computer, as well as customer service skills.
I have recently taken a graphics class working with Quark Express, and I have taken two Computer Sciences classes that have taught me how to write for the internet and to design web pages. I am a fast learner, and I would enjoy more experiences working in these fields.
I would like to work in the creative and design aspects of advertising, since I feel that this is where I have the least experience, but the most enthusiasm. I would also enjoy working with potential advertisers and helping them plan out the perfect advertisements for their company. I am also extremely interested in television advertising; I think that the ratings system for buying selling air time is very interesting.
