This page is dead
I think this page has pretty much run its course. Morgan was successfully prosecuted and a google search
of his name will come up with some of the results. A lot of people got some or all of their money back, and
I believe that he is forbidden from any future internet and ebay transactions. I'm still going to leave the following
up in the event that someone has been scammed by another person on the internet, as the points may still be useful.
Regarding Engle, thanks to everyone who contributed to this page and it was nice to see what working together can accomplish.
The following is the list of advice I gave to people who were scammed by this man. Ultimately, I believe the FTC was in charge of his demise, but I'm not sure. If you
were scammed by someone, good luck and don't give up.
- If you shipped him money via US Postal Service, go to your local post office and file a fraud complaint with the local postmaster. While one complaint
won't do much, four or five will do a lot. He has scammed a lot of people, so definitely do this one.
- File a complaint at the Internet Fraud Complaint Center. Again, if they get a few, they will crack down.
- Call the non-emergency number of the Police Department of the scammer's jurisdiction -- Tell them you were the victim of fraud from an Atlanta resident and they will direct your call properly. Make sure you get Morgan's name out, even if you are unable to file a report.
- Last resort: For a fee under $50, you can file a small claims case locally. Call up your city building and they should be able to direct you to the right place. What will happen if you do this is that Morgan will get a request to come to court, he probably won't
come (he lives far away and has no case) and then the judge will rule in your favor. Morgan will be issued an order to pay you the amount taken + the filing fee you paid. This will be a civil case, so no one will take him to jail. If he doesn't pay, it will severely
screw up his credit until he does. If Morgan DOES show up, he will argue that the court has no Jurisdiction (since it will probably be out of state) and more than likely the Judge will take the position that since Morgan took the time to come to court, he is agreeing that
the court DOES have jurisdiction, and again he will be issued an order to pay you.
What NOT to do:
- Make up stuff about your law council. Most people don't have one, but claim to. Morgan is used to this and it will get you nowhere. If you do have legal services available, consult them and have them send an official letter of phone call to Engle.
- Spam his email. This will only make him change his email address. We do NOT want this to happen.
- Call him and curse him out. This is along the lines of the former. The less Morgan is involved, the less he knows what is coming (he won't have as much time to retaliate) and then BAM the fbi knocks down his door.
