Here is the homebrewed sandblaster. It is 18" W x 18" H x 24" D.
Notice the two 5" rings in the front. That is where you insert your
arms. Air compressor is to the left.
Here is the side view. Notice the 4" dryer hose used to carry away
the dust that blows around when you operate the "sand wand." A high
speed muffin is used to provide a slight vaccuum in the box.
This view in looking into the door. The exhaust fan in the upper
right, the wand, and gloves to protect my arms from the high speed
sand. Right in the middle is an alternator housing that I was working
on.
Here is a picture of the finished alternator housing. To the right is
the edge of one that is unfinished. The coating is polyurethane for
floors, it adheres well and provides a wet-looking, protective
finish. It looks so nice, I don't know if I can stand to put it back
under the hood of my car!
