My PCOS Journal

10 December 2000--I am sitting here at my computer at 8:30 this Friday listening to No Doubt's new CD and thinking about how wonderful this year has been. Nick and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary in October. We found out we were pregnant for sure on Septebmer 26. It has been hard dealing with the bleeding and the fact that I might have placenta previa and might have to deliver C-section, but it has been more than worth it. I never really doubted whether I would get pregnant. I just assumed that it would take some time. I really feel like I should have waited about six months or so for the metformin to do its job before getting pg, but I am glad that we made the decision to have a baby. We have a hard, but what we hope will be a happy year ahead of us.

15 December 2000-- Things have been moving right along. I have stopped bleeding completely and the baby seems find. We just had a set of triple screen tests done to see if the baby has spina bifida or other genetic abnormalities, but we will not find out the results until our next appointment at the end of the is month. I was realy nervous about those tests the night before I went to take them, but I have calmed down considerably since then. My next big concern is gestational diabetes. Hopefully the metformin will help with that.
