Fennel

Fennel has been used for centuries to treat gas pain and digestive disorders, and it has returned to popularity for its use in women's health. In addition to drinking fennel tea, I also use fennel as much as I can in cooking. It is good on chicken and broccoli.

Nausea and Gas Pain: Drinking fennel tea for tummy pains is part of many peole's childhood memories, because for years it has been used to treat stomach pains and collic in babies.

Promotes Menstruation: There is a debate as to whether fennel is best used to promote menstruation or to relax the uterus. One study has suggested that fennel has a mild estrogenic effect, so it might be useful for bringing on menses.

Fennel Tea: Steep 1/3 teaspoon of crushed fennel seeds in a cup of boiling water.
