Introduction

Phi Sigma Iota is the French Honor Society at Ohio University.  Its purpose is to reward excellence in French Studies at O.U.  While PSI is primarily an honorary society, members are nevertheless engaged in activities that promote French language and culture during the academic year.  Members of PSI tutor undergraduate students in lower-level French courses, and participate in "A Taste of Study Abroad" each May.  We also have our annual induction dinner for new members in February.

Application

Application for membership in Phi Sigma Iota occurs at the start of Winter Quarter each year.  Applications are distributed in upper-level classes at the start of the quarter.  If you meet the requirements below, but are not registered for an upper-level French course, you can obtain an application form from Dr. Coski (coski@ohio.edu).

Requirements

Undergraduates and graduates are eligible to apply. Undergraduates must have a 3.0 GPA overall AND a 3.0 GPA in French courses at the 300 level and above. Graduates must have a 3.3 GPA overall AND a 3.3 GPA in French courses
