Research Interests
My research interests lie in the history and philosophy of the natural sciences, principally biology and physics. I am also interested in ancient and medieval metaphysics and epistemology. My earlier work focused primarily on Aristotle’s logic and epistemology, especially his philosophy of language, and on the role of indeterminacy in evolutionary theory. Currently I am working on the metaphysics of substance in Aristotle's biological writings and on Aristotle's conception of the relation between the science of geometry and the ontology of physical space.
